Senator David Ford, who died on March 5, 2008, was a treasured "Buddy," having actively served on the Corporation for Educational Technology's Board of Directors for many years. His participation was also valued in several other organizations' boards of directors as well as on several state committees that focused on educational technology issues and services. Senator Ford, a champion for educational technology in the Indiana Senate, will be remembered by all Indiana educators striving for excellence in our schools through effective technology deployment and integration. The Buddy Teaching and Learning Center has dedicated its main training room in Senator Ford's honor for his many contributions toward improved teaching and learning with technology. The ceremony was held on August 11, 2008, and was attended by Senator Ford’s wife and two family members. Heartfelt words of remembrance and appreciation were shared by many of those in attendance, including Representative Greg Porter, Representative Cindy Noe, former Senator Steve Johnson, Dr. Bob Dalton, Ms. Gretchen Gutman, Ms. Susan Matthews, and Mr. Marvin Bailey.

The Buddy Teaching & Learning Center, located on the southwest side of Indianapolis, serves all Indiana Educators by providing quality professional development sessions at our site as well as on-site for groups, regional meetings, districts, and individual schools.
