Providing the best education for our Indiana students takes a variety of resources from across Indiana and our entire nation. These are some of those initiatives, programs and groups that help promote learning.
NECC Celebrates 30th Birthday
The United States Capitol is the site for the 30th annual International Society of Technology Educators (ISTE) National Educational Computing Conference (NECC), June 28-July 1, 2009. Keynote speakers include Malcolm Gladwell, author and writer for the New Yorker, and Erin Gruwell, the inspirational teacher portrayed in the movie and book, Freedom Writers. Formal and informal workshops, presentations, tours and activities will be available for professional development needs and opportunities for visitations around this historic site. Indiana Computer Educators ( ICE), the Indiana affiliate of ISTE, has reserved a block of rooms at the Renaissance Washington DC Hotel to provide an atmosphere of state unity and to help organize activities while there. Online registration, key dates and more information about NECC 2009 are available on their website.
