Providing the best education for our Indiana students takes a variety of resources from across Indiana and our entire nation. These are some of those initiatives, programs and groups that help promote learning.
NETS for Teachers
Change is the key word in the newest edition of the National Educational Technology Standards (NETS) for Teachers recently released by ISTE (International Society for Technology in Education). The emphasis is no longer on keeping up with technology, but moving past its use into modeling its effectiveness. Teachers must be willing to lead and learn as the technology changes along with social, political and educational expectations. The new NETS for Teachers are closely aligned with NETS for Students which address what students need to know to have a viable edge in society. Along with the Essential Conditions, and Standards and Performance Indicators, the guide provides Benchmark Rubrics and authentic classroom Scenarios. These standards will assist teachers in providing a technology infused learning pathway for students as they move into the global community
