Tune In to Great Educational Opportunities at iTunesU

Educators, parents and students now have access to loads of free fabulous educational resources at iTunesU™, a department of the iTunes Store. Some of the top universities in the country including Yale, MIT, Duke, DePaul, and Texas A&M are posting lectures and mini-lectures, in audio and video formats, on topics from electricity to poetry to problem solving. The University of Pennsylvania has a series called 60 Second Lectures, while other lectures are more traditional in length.

While most of these lessons may be better suited to intermediate or secondary aged students, there seems to be something for everybody. And new lectures are being added at an explosive rate! iTunes is free software that can be downloaded from Apple.com on either a PC or a Mac. Launch your iTunes software, then click on <iTunes Store> to hook up with the store website, then click <iTunesU> in the itTunes store menu block.

Adding video or audio lessons to your classroom resources can be a great way to keep students interested in the learning process. You’ll find presentations, debates, demonstrations, and lectures devoted entirely to education at your fingertips. If you have audio or video materials that you have developed and would like to share with the rest of educational world, there are simple directions on how to post resources to iTunesU. So, do yourself and your students a favor, and tune in to the educational opportunities at iTunesU! You’ll be glad you did!
