Thinkfinity™
"Thinkfinity brings the power of learning to your fingertips," according to the Verizon™ Foundation which has organized a consortium of respected educational organizations to provide an abundance of content for educators, students, parents and after-school instructors. Thinkfinity.org’s offering of online resources includes lesson plans, interactivities, reference materials, media, and assessments which are organized by keyword, subject, grade level or content provider. For example, in a search using the keywords, "St. Patrick’s Day," the listing includes a K-5 ReadWriteThink™ classroom activity with links to reference materials and ideas for instruction as one result. Another entry for a 3-8 classroom activity from EDSITEment™ displays a primary source from the Library of Congress including the United States’ timeline of the development of the St. Patrick’s Day event and unique associated media.
Providers such as NCTM’s Illuminations™, Smithsonian’s History Explorer™, and Kennedy Center’s ARTSEDGE™ share K-12 lesson plans aligned to state and national standards. Indiana, part of the State Education Network, has been working on its own state standards alignment project with Thinkfinity.org's resources. Correlation by subject area standards provides curriculum framework, classroom activities, classroom assessments and Thinkfinity lesson plans. Thinkfinity’s Literacy Network also offers free, self-paced, online courses to guide education providers and students in excellent literacy instruction.
