Interactive Whiteboards

With the cost of everything we use going up, up, and up, have you found an interactive whiteboard is just not in the budget this year? Here are some suggested solutions which might suffice until the money becomes more attainable.

Make Your Own Interactive Whiteboard with a Wii Controller
Johnny Chung Lee from Carnegie Mellon University has develop an interactive tool comprised of a Wii Controller, a powered infrared light (incorporated into a pen or stylus), a video projector, a computer and a flat surface (white board, wall or desktop) to make his own interactive whiteboard. Some additional software may be needed for calibration, but the tools can interact with the software already on the computer. In Johnny Lee’s video, he explains the how-to for setting it up and how parts of this can also be used with a liquid crystal display to make a touch screen interaction tool.
Twilddla™
Twiddla is an online collaboration tool that incorporates sharing information drawn with user-friendly drawing tools, text, and uploaded images in the sandbox. Participants can quickly set up sharing sessions that can include audio chats.
Scrib Link™
Scrib Link calls itself “your online whiteboard.” It provides online tools and a chat room to discuss with others, whom you have invited, about projects or the sharing of information and images. This online tool is easy to use and is free!
